How to Find and Unlock the Field Depot in MW4 DMZ
The Field Depot is a locked gear-maintenance room at Chang-san Air Base in Hajin. It is located inside the northeast military supply warehouse, at Tac Map grid B5. Players need an Epic Field Depot Key to open it.
Unlike regular MW4 DMZ Items found through looting, this room requires a separate key. It is also easy to confuse with other locked areas around the air base, so checking the door name before using your key is important.
Field Depot Location at Chang-san Air Base
The Field Depot is on the ground floor of the corrugated-metal supply warehouse northeast of the air-base clinic.
Follow this route:
- Locate the clinic at Chang-san Air Base.
- Move northeast toward the military supply warehouse.
- Enter the warehouse and find the office in the left-hand corner.
- Look for the light-colored door with a red rectangular panel beside the office entrance.
- Check that the interaction prompt reads FIELD DEPOT – LOCKED.
- Use your Epic key to unlock the door.
The warehouse marker identifies the general area, not the exact door. Stay on the ground floor; the Field Depot is not upstairs or inside the bunker.
How to Get the Field Depot Key
The Field Depot Key is Epic rarity and comes from random container loot. There is no confirmed fixed spawn location, Story Mission reward, or Lieutenant drop for this key.
Keep these points in mind:
- Search containers, lockers, and bags while looting.
- Check the key card name and grid before deploying to Chang-san.
- Put the key in a key slot or Secure Slot before extracting.
- Do not sell it if you intend to open the Field Depot later.
A Secure Slot protects the key if you are eliminated, but you still need to extract successfully to keep it in your stash for another deployment.
Field Depot vs Other Chang-san Locks
Several locked rooms are located around Chang-san Air Base. Using the wrong key can waste an entire deployment.
| Locked Area | Location | Required Access |
|---|---|---|
| Field Depot | Ground-floor office, northeast supply warehouse | Epic Field Depot Key |
| Weapons Mod Workshop | Upstairs in the military repair garage, west of the clinic | Separate key |
| Commandant Office | Second floor of Admin Complex No. 2 | Separate key |
| Air Base Armory | Air-base armory | Airbase Armory Keycard |
| Supreme Leader’s Bunker | Below Admin Complex No. 2 | Supreme Leader’s Bunker Access Card |
| Air Base DRC Weapons Locker | Inside the bunker, grid B6 | Ultra access card |
Operation Iron Citadel provides a close starting point at the air base, but its mission rewards do not include the Field Depot Key. The bunker access card from that mission is for a different locked area.
What Can You Find Inside?
There is no confirmed guaranteed loot list for the Field Depot. Treat it as an additional locked loot room rather than a reliable source of a particular weapon, manual, or recipe.
Bring enough backpack space before opening it. If you find a Weapon Manual or 3D Printer recipe, prioritize extracting it:
- A Weapon Manual unlocks the corresponding weapon for Gunsmith purchase after successful extraction and grants 5,000 DMZ Cash credit.
- A printer recipe unlocks its corresponding craft after successful extraction and also grants 5,000 DMZ Cash credit.
Neither item provides its unlock if you die before extracting. Do not assume the Field Depot always contains either one.
Tips for a Successful Field Depot Run
- Bring the correct key: Confirm that the card specifically names the Field Depot at grid B5.
- Use the close deployment: Operation Iron Citadel can place you near Chang-san, but it does not unlock the warehouse.
- Prepare your gear: Bring suitable armor, healing supplies, and enough backpack space.
- Avoid the bunker: The bunker has a separate access requirement and a higher threat level.
- Leave after looting: The warehouse is in a dangerous area, so avoid unnecessary fights after opening the room.
Players who also want to make Multiplayer progression more efficient can consider Bot Lobbies MW4 to spend less time on selected progression goals and more time preparing loadouts and improving their gameplay.
